African Lodge with a (Rhino) Cause

No secret I love elephants, but after my recent trip to South Africa, I now love rhinos, too.  With their eyes so wide apart.  Their chubby bottoms.  Those prehistoric horns.  Rhino poaching is a huge problem in South Africa.  So I was delighted to receive an email from The Shamwari Group – who have some pretty amazing properties in South Africa, including Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve outside Cape Town and Jock Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park, announcing their ‘Forever Wild’ campaign.

Each of the properties is running a special rack rate of *R3, 500 (about $450) per person, per night, sharing.  Remember – that is an all inclusive cost, including amazing facilities, game drives and to-die-for meals.  A donation of R100 per person per night qualifies guests for this discounted rate and Shamwari Group will donate a further R500.00 for every room night sold on this offer.  All proceeds will be donated to the Wilderness Foundation with the donation proceeds audited by Grant Thornton.
